Q: What is the success rate for the AuriculStaple?
A: The AuriculoStaple treatment is effective over 80% of the time. If you do not feel any effects from the staple after 5 days the staple may need to be repositioned. We will do this at no extra charge.

Q: What is an ear staple?
A: An ear staple is a tiny, surgical, stainless steel staple that is placed in the middle cartilage of the ear on specific points to target weight loss, stress, tension and smoking cessation.

Q: How Does it Work?
A: The AuriculoStaple provides a continuous stimulation to specific points in the ear. The stimulation sends a signal to your brain informing your stomach that it is full or causing a strong distaste for tobacco. There are other beneficial effects with some such as helping with gastrointestinal problems like acid reflux, IBS, chronic diarrhea and constipation.

Q: What will I notice after my AuriculoStaple treatment?
A: The most common effects of the AuriculoStaple system are as follows: 1. Feel less stressed. 2. Decreased tension in the body. 3. An increased thirst for water. 4. An overwhelming metallic taste in your mouth if you smoke a cigarette. 5. Eliminated withdrawal symptoms and cravings for nicotine. 6. Suppressed appetite. 7. When eating, you will reach a state of fullness much faster than normal. 8. Decreased cravings for sweets, breads, junk food, etc. 9. Increased willpower and focus.

Q: How long will the effects of the AuriculoStaple last?
A: Since each person's body is unique, the length of time the staple is effective can vary for each individual but usually anywhere from 4 weeks to 6 months we do not know how long the effect will last. Traumas and or infections can shorten the life of the staple. The body becomes used to the stimulation of the staple and the effect wears off. With our program we will remove the staple after 6 months and leave it out for 10 day to 2 months(depending on how long the staple has been in). This will regenerate the points to be effective again. If you have reached your goal weight or you don't have a desire to smoke after the seven days then you will not need another treatment. On the other hand, if you have not reached your goal weight or you still desire to smoke replacement staples/magnets can be done (call your doctor for pricing).

Q: How Do I Take Care of the Staple?
A: There is a chance of infection for the entire life of the staple. Clean the staple daily with alcohol, sea breeze or peroxide. Apply a light coating of antibiotic ointment such as neosporin over the staple. Take care to not touch the staple. You will have little chance of infection when following the above steps. It is your responsibility to prevent infection.
Q: What is the average Weight loss?
A: Women: 1-5 pounds per week; Men: 1-8 pounds per week. Overall, 10 to 30 pounds per month! 

Q: Is one staple better than two?
A: The stimulation points are very small. Therefore, your chance to stimulate the point effectively is increased when both ears are stapled. Two staples will not double your weight loss. One staple can still be very adequate.

Q: Does the AuriculoStaple Hurt?
A: The AuriculoStaple is placed on the cartilage of the ear. Therefore, there is not a great deal of feeling in this area. Placement of the ear staple feels like an ear piercing. There may be a slight burning or stinging sensation but it subsides very quickly. Some people do not feel anything at all.

Q: Does it leave a scar?
A: Scaring can occur. However, the chances are very small because the staple is very small. People that suffer from keloid scaring may have a greater risk of scarring.

Q: Is it safe for everyone?
A: Women who are pregnant or trying to conceive should not have the staple inserted. It will not interfere with medication or diseases. Diabetics with slow healing are encouraged not to have the staple inserted.

Q: Will it interfere with sleeping/swimming/talking on the phone?
A: No. Sleeping on your side, swimming and normal use of the phone will not affect the staple negatively. Cellular phone ear pieces and ear phones may irritate the staple.

A: Your cost will be $125. This includes repositioning, if needed, and removal of the staple at a future appointment at no additional charge.
